1. National Museum of the US Air Force
Dayton is home to the oldest and largest military aviation museum in the world! This free museum is an absolute must for any plane lover with tons of exhibits including a Space gallery and a Presidential gallery.
2. Dixie Twin Drive-In
This charming drive-in theater provides a touch of nostalgia while showing the most current movies. Tickets are only $8 for adults and $5 for children! Dixie also boosts a full concession stand that includes all the classic movies foods. Grab your friends and jump in your car because you won’t want to miss this unique movie going experience.
3. Dayton Art Institute
Overlooking downtown Dayton, the Art Institute’s collection spans 5,000 years of art history! With a large permanent collection as well as ever-changing special exhibits, there is always something beautiful to see. Admission is $8 for adults and free for children ages 17 and under.
4. The Butterfly House
One of the only all-native butterfly exhibits in the country, the Butterfly House at the Cox Arboretum MetroPark has butterflies and moths in all stages of metamorphosis. The butterflies are exhibited in a natural habitat to educate visitors about the life and beauty of butterflies. Admission to the educational and kid-friendly Butterfly House is free!
5. Movies at the Victoria
Originally opened in 1866, the Victoria Theater has been a home to the arts in Dayton for 150 years. Performances at the Victoria range from the ballet to music performances, but a favorite is their multiple film series. Ranging from a Family Film series to a Cool Film series, the Victoria shows older movies for just $6! Check here to see their current showings.
6. Concerts in the Park at Springboro
Everyone loves attending concerts, but everyone loves attending free concerts even more! Located near Dayton, Springboro Park has concerts on Tuesday and Friday during the month of July.
