They were established all the way back in 1981 right within German Village. The owners have aimed to keep the style exactly how it was all the way back at the beginning of the 80’s. This includes that classic ‘cook the food right in front of you feel’ essential to all great diners.

Lindey’s

Lindey’s is a great place to go to make an impression. Maybe you are meeting a special someone or want to take your family out for a classy breakfast. Either way, Lindey’s fine establishment is perfect for upscale get-togethers. 

While the average price at Lindey’s can be a bit steep, they make up for it in the service department. Their top of the line servers are well-versed on their entire menu to ensure customer satisfaction. On top of that, the modern atmosphere and clean-cut angles of the dining space make for an ‘Upper East Side’ establishment right in the heart of German Village. 

Not to be outdone by the astonishing atmosphere, Lindey’s food is top notch! Their most notable breakfast option is the eggs benedict with shaved Applewood ham. If you want to keep it simple, they also have a classic breakfast option consisting of two eggs, hash browns, bacon, and an English muffin. 

If you weren’t able to make it for breakfast and it is closing in on lunch or dinner time, you could have a variety of fishes including salmon, grouper, and Idaho rainbow trout. If you are not feeling seafood, they have a multitude of different cuts of steak including filet and New York strip. End the meal with an elegant dessert like crème brulee or sorbet.

The Woodbury

Perhaps the most unique restaurant on this list, The Woodbury puts a twist on the traditional classics. Their motto is that “you’re free to take risks and dive into the unexpected. You’ll experience an escape from monotony and a totally new, unique storyline.” After hearing that, you know you are in for a treat. 

But what exactly do they mean by ‘dive into the unexpected?’ To answer, here are some of their breakfast options. Candied bacon crepes, french toast casserole, chicken hotcake tacos, or deep fried peanut butter and jelly. Any of these meals would certainly be a good conversation piece, and taste just as great!

If you’re not quite ready to dive that deep, they do offer more ‘traditional’ style breakfast options. Consider the country fried steak and eggs or the woodbury quiche! While not being as out of the box as the prior options, the taste is just as good. 

Another unique aspect to The Woodbury is their full coffee bar. They open at six in the morning on weekdays to be sure you can have a great start to your day! The coffee bar features all of the signature coffee styles like lattes, cappuccinos, mochas, and many more.
