Delaware Tree Lighting
A Weekend of Holiday Magic
Starting on the first Friday of December, and running the entire weekend, Main Street Delaware will be hosting numerous festive events to start the holiday season off right. All events are free of charge, and the weekend officially starts with the Tree Lighting ceremony at 6:30 pm on the main stage. There will be live entertainment throughout the night on the stage as well. In addition, there will be live reindeer, carolers, free carriage rides around the downtown area, and ice skating for an additional price.
The weekend will continue on Saturday with the opening of the Holiday Open House and a children’s scavenger hunt called “Dash for Dasher.” Santa House will be at The Strand Theatre, from 1-3pm and all month until Christmas.
On Sunday, the weekend of events will be wrapped up with a Christmas-themed parade through the town. It starts at 3 pm sharp so plan accordingly.
Some of Main Street Delaware’s holiday events run for the length of the holiday season, so be sure to check their website for the full list of activities.
