Everyone needs to take a load off at some point, and we think that one of the best ways to do so is to spend some time in a cabin in Amish Country Ohio.

Taking some time off from the hustle and bustle of your everyday life is an absolute must, and what better way to do that than by living in a semi-secluded cabin for a night or two or a few.

You may be thinking that it’s hard to find a place that will let you bring your pets though. Lucky for you, we have a list here of some amazing cabins in Amish Country that do allow you to bring your pets with you!

Oasis Retreat Cabin

Oasis Retreat Cabin is right in the middle of Amish Country being a minute from Berlin, five minutes from Walnut Creek, and ten minutes from Millersburg. It’s in a great location if you want to move around a bit during your stay, but it’s hard for us to imagine that you would want to leave the cabin and its immediate surroundings.

If you do though, there's a whole host of fun places to visit that are in the area. You can hit the Dutch Valley Restaurant for a nice meal, or head over to Heini’s Cheese Chalet among so many other great places to visit in the area.

This place is stunning. And not only is the setting gorgeous, the inside of the cabin is beautiful too. The cabin has three beds, 2 baths, and can comfortably host six guests, so it’s a great spot for a family, or a group of friends.

Along with some of the basic, expected amenities, the Oasis Retreat Cabin also has a small pond with a dock that’s perfect for fishing (not for swimming!)

Beverly G.’s review on vrbo: “This cabin met our needs for our sisters and daughters weekend! We loved sitting in the hot tub watching the many birds coming and going in the nearby bird feeders. The fishing pond is down hill from the cabin. Since it was a steep snow covered hill we decided it’s not accessible for the flat landers that we are.

The cabin is conveniently located in Amish country close to the many activities we were interested in visiting—shopping, hiking, museums, restaurants. The kitchen is equipped to prepare meals for either eating on high bar stools around kitchen island or sitting on high kitchen table and elevated chairs. We are looking forward to renting this house again.”

This cabin is located in a beautiful part of the woods which perfectly balances the rustic nature of the outdoors and the clean, gorgeous interior of the cabin. Although the cabin is in the woods, it is still only about fifteen minutes away from several centers and places to get a bit to eat.

This cabin has a fully functional kitchen as well as a gas grill that's perfect for grilling some steaks, franks, or really whatever you want.

All of the furniture, cabinets, etc. is Amish built so you know that the furniture is very high quality.

This cabin is all about relaxing and taking a load off. They even make a point of emphasizing how important they think just sitting on the front porch of this cabin is. They highly encourage you to use that time to unplug and sincerely enjoy your surroundings (although they do offer wifi at no extra cost).

The reviews that The Cabin at Saltcreek Pond get are out of this world, and we especially loved Meredith M.’s review on vrbo.com.

Meredith M.’s review on vrbo.com: Beautiful long driveway back from the road. Cabin set in the trees with gorgeous views from every window. Lots of wide open space inside with plenty of comfortable furniture along with two fireplaces and a big soaking tub inside the bathroom. Amazing kitchen with huge Viking stove and Fridge and we ate at the wonderful island - the outside was amazing with a porch swing and wrap around deck with grill and plenty of sitting outside - huge wonderful hot tub outside within running distance to the house. It was too cold to enjoy the outside and the firepit by the pond - it all looked tempting in the warmer days ahead. We will be back!”

Woodbury Cabins

wooden cabin
This cabin is completely surrounded by woods so that you get a peaceful view like this one. Image courtesy of woodburycabins.com.

The Original Woodbury Cabin is right in the middle of 42 acres of woods, so if seclusion is the most important aspect in your cabin choosing criteria, this is the place for you. Despite this, if you feel the need to drive into Amish Country, that’s definitely an option for you.

This cabin is also equipped to host up to 14 guests so if you have a large party and are having trouble finding other cabins that would fit your needs, then you’ve found your cabin!

If you’re planning on bringing kids with you and are worried that they might get bored at the cabin, worry no more. The Original Woodbury Cabin has so many options for kids to pass the time. Firstly, they have bunk beds, and what kids don’t love bunk beds? The Original Woodbury Cabin also has air hockey in the basement and pedal boats for the pond nearby.

The area is also perfect for fishing or hunting if that’s what you want to do. There isn’t a single other building in that 42 acres so all that space is all yours.

The inside of the cabin includes a fireplace, two bathrooms, a full kitchen, and all the fixins that you’d expect at a standard home.

The Original Woodbury Cabin has gotten great reviews, but one in particular stuck out to us.

Dawnd545’s  review on Trip Advisor for the cabin reads: “This review is well over due but I need to tell you. Thank You!! This cabin trip was awesome, well beyond our expectations and can't wait to come back again. The owner is very personable and was there for us every step of the way. Property and Cabin is just beautiful and very homey. My husband and I had 2 nights here alone and then the family came out. Very peaceful and quiet by ourselves and then very roomy when the family arrived. Pet friendly and my King Charles spaniel could not get enough of the pond; he would chase fish in the pond. We recommended this to many of our friends and I believe someone in my family already booked some dates for next year-I can't wait to come back! What you see in the photos is what you get. You will not be disappointed! Go and enjoy!”

Christi’s Hideaway Cabin

2121 Main Street, Winesburg, OH | airbnb.com

Cabin
The smaller space and tasteful decorations makes this a cozy, comfortable spot for whoever takes a day off here. Image courtesy of airbnb.com.

Christi’s Hideaway Cabin is located in Winesburg, Ohio (of literary fame!) and is only a few miles away from other Amish towns like Mt. Hope and Berlin.

This cabin is the smallest of the selection but that doesn’t mean much considering the quality of location and the cozy feeling inside the cabin. Christi’s Hideaway Cabin only has one bed so this is more of a partners’ getaway or a getaway just for yourself.

Christi’s Hideaway Cabin comes with all the amenities that you would expect including wifi, tv, a fridge, and even free parking. Unfortunately though, there is no kitchen so you’ll have to plan on packing a meal and maybe using their microwave, or you could go to a restaurant in any of the surrounding towns that we mentioned before.

Everyone who has stayed here cannot stop raving about it. They all write how clean and cute the place is and how they can’t wait to come back for another stay.

The host is also a Superhost on Airbnb which means that they will be a high quality host and will help you with whatever it is that you need.

Shawn’s Review on Airbnb: “Though the pictures reflect a quaint, cozy cabin...just what we were looking for...Christiane’s cabin was so much more. Easily one of the coziest, cleanest and relaxing places we have stayed. My wife and I needed a recharge and this place over delivered. From the amazing craftsmanship throughout, to the thoughtful touches that made us comfortable and cozy, if you are looking for an experience, not just a place to stay, then this is for you! Christiane was so nice and friendly and gave great directions and recommendations of what to do in Amish country on top of it. We will definitely be a regular at Christiane’s cabin!”

Tullihas in the Trees

Frazeysburg, OH |  airbnb.com

2 storey cabin
The trip up into this cabin is quite the hike, but once you’ve made it to the top, it’s worth it. Image courtesy of airbnb.com.

This charming cabin is in a perfect area for anyone wanting to hike and explore nature while disconnecting from the outside world. There are of course nearby options if you want to grab some food or see some other sights, but the cabin has no electricity (no wifi, of course).

The area around the cabin is perfect for a complete disconnection from whatever else is happening in the world. On top of that, the interior of the cabin is cozy, comfortable and stylish. There are only beds but there are also two cribs so the cabin is great for smaller, even new families.

The downfall of this cabin is that it doesn’t necessarily have all of the amenities that the other cabins listed here have. This cabin is definitely meant more for the folks who are more into the glamping aspect of living in a cabin.

Despite the lack of amenities, the people who have stayed at this cabin have fallen in love with it. Here is John’s review on Airbnb: “Staying at the Treehouse was amazing! THANK YOU Carol and family for your hospitality and your communication. I don't know if I have EVER had an AirBnB host answers questions (especially so many of them) so fast. That is, Carol's communication was amazing! Carol was not able to be there when my friend and I were there...but she set us up with her neighbor who brought us wood for our fire at night. He was incredibly nice. Thank you for everything. It was amazing - The way the treehouse was built, the way it was painted, decorated and the care that was put into it...it was beautiful, peaceful and just wonderful. Thank you Carol!”

Any of these five cabins will provide you with a secluded, relaxing getaway. There are slight differences between each of these cabins regarding size, seclusion, and amenities, but they are all pet friendly, and they all can’t wait to have you.

Have fun at the cabin!
