Hart & Batter
Bexley | hartandbatter.com
Hart & Batter is one of Bexley’s newest bakeries, opening in 2020. The bakery at the moment is a licensed home bakery. You can order your items on their website for contactless deliveries. There currently is a two day notice required for all orders.
The delivery isn’t the only special thing Hart & Batter has to offer. It is also the first keto, low-carb & sugar free mobile bakery. To fulfill this mission, Hart & Batter uses a combination of almond, tapioca, and coconut flour. The sweeteners are all natural like monk fruit and allulose.
Keto cupcakes are available in quantities of 2, 4, 6, and 12.
While this type of bakery is non-traditional, the reviews for it are all amazing, like this one from Kristi J. on Yelp:
“My husband and I have ordered cupcakes from Crystal twice now and I have to say that the cupcakes were phenomenal. I was hesitant initially because the cupcakes are on the pricey side, but they are worth every penny! If I could, I'd order some every week. Before starting Keto, we used Polka dot cupcakes which are awesome, but not Keto friendly. Thank u so much Crystal for giving us the same quality and deliciousness!” -Yelp Review
Free contactless deliveries are available to any Bexley address. There is a $5 charge for any delivery in the 207 loop. There is also the option for pickup every night from 6-7 at Bexley Market District parking lot.
Cherbourg Bakery
541 S. Drexel Ave. | Bexley | cherbourgbakery.com
Cherbourg Bakery, named after owner Geri’s favorite place, the port town of Cherbourg, France, is another great stop in your tour of Bexley’s bakeries.
At Cherbourg, they pride themselves on being a gluten, nut, and dye free bakery making this the perfect spot for those with nut and gluten allergies. These products have never been in the kitchen so there is no need to worry even a little!
Another thing that separates Cherbourg from the crowd is that they bake in very small batches due to their following of traditional recipes.
Recipes are shared on their blog on their website. Are you looking for a Citrus Pound Cake with Strawberry Butter? Or maybe a Flourless Chocolate Cake? Maybe some Pumpkin Roll? Cherbourg’s blog has all of this and more!
While their menu does have staples like zucchini mini loaf, muffins, and scones the bakers love to experiment. That means that the more you stop by the more likely you are to find a new sweet treat that isn’t always available on the menu.
“My first time in this cute little shop. I tried the sun-dried tomato strata. Very flavorful, even my baby loved it and kept asking for more. Make sure to have them warm it up for you. I also got the glazed pumpkin donut which was so moist and not too sweet, I should've gotten more of those! The first bite of the cinnamon roll was great but then it crumbled on me and became messy. My husband didn't mind and loved the roll. Definitely will come back to try their other pastries.” -Yelp Review
If you’re looking to grab a snack here, you can stop in the store or order ahead on their website. They also do catering.

“Kittie's is an adorable treat shop in German Village with amazing cinnamon rolls and chocolate chip scones. They don't have a huge variety of anything but I appreciate that they do a few things really well. The Bexley location has more options. They also have a decent coffee selection to go with their treats so that is nice. Parking in German Village is always a mess but Kitties is worth roaming around for a spot.” -Yelp Review

“There are very few kosher bakeries available so having Matt's within driving distance is a plus regardless. But it is also very, very good! We've ordered birthday cakes on two occasions and both times they were excellent....light, moist and delicious. The frosting: wonderful! Recently we tried their Knishes.
