Marysville is the type of town you would see in a movie. It is small, close-knit and still thriving with growth and opportunity. Located in the center of Union County, it is the place where lots of happy families are calling home. The motto for Marysville is “where the grass is greener” and, in our unbiased opinion, it is greener on that side of the fence.

What you’re going to learn about Marysville:

  • Adult Co-Rec Leagues
  • Municipal Pool
  • School District

Adult Co-Rec Leagues

The city of Marysville offers disc golf, softball and sand volleyball leagues. Disc golf games are on Tuesdays, rain or shine at the Mill Valley South course. Games are all individual. Don’t worry if you can’t make it every week, no subs are required. Rankings are determined by the average score every week. The season runs from June 12 to August 7. All of the rules and league information is available here.

Sand volleyball also happens around the same time as the disc golf tournaments. Games are played at Eijer Park on Wednesday and Thursday evenings. The teams have to have three men and three women. There is a higher registration fee to participate in the volleyball games but we all know that it is worth it.

The details for the softball teams haven’t been released yet. However, there are two to three co-ed tournaments that take place over the summer. They will take place at the Union County Recreation District facility. Be sure to keep checking the website for the details!

Municipal Pool

Every summer, Marysville opens up their pool! They offer swimming lessons and have a swim team. In order to access the pool, you’ll need to buy a season pass. For swim lessons, you don’t need a pass but it is going to cost you a little extra. It is 35 dollars for lessons with the pass and 50 without. You can find more information about swimming lessons here.

The swim team is for children up to 18 years old. You don’t have to be a resident of Marysville to be a Stingray! All that is required is that you can swim 25 meters, fill out all of the required paperwork and pay a fee. I can’t forget to mention that you also need to have fun!

The pool is the definition of family friendly. The pool has various levels of depth and there is even a pad for the little ones.

School District

The school district is worth mentioning because it is very highly ranked and has a close community. There are five elementary schools, two middle schools, and two high schools. All schools maintain a high standard for their students. There are various athletic programs, occupational therapy and personalized learning for all of your child’s needs. The district is very open and transparent with what is going on in the schools, which is very important in this day and age. Please check out the Marysville School District’s awesomeness for yourself!

Marysville has a hotspot for all of its events and community gatherings. What’s Up, Marysville? is the site that is in the know for the goodies around town.
