Country Inn and Restaurant

290 Brooks-Malott Rd. | Mt. Orab | eatcountryinn.com

“It’s like you never left home,” is the opening statement you will see when going on the country inn and restaurant website page. That is quite the trusting statement considering most would probably agree there’s nothing better than a home cooked meal.

Looking at the menu they have all the classic delicious breakfast foods we like to eat. Grandma Pattie’s cakes and meats sounded like a yummy classic; Two fluffy buttermilk pancakes served with your choice of sausage patties, thick-sliced bacon, or sugar-cured ham and a side of real butter with warm 100% pure natural syrup.

Maybe you want something more specific like an omelet, well the garden omelet looked rather enticing as well; it is a fluffy three-egg omelet, garden fresh grilled veggies, including chopped tomatoes, diced onions, mushrooms, and green peppers with home fries and your choice of white, whole wheat or rye toast, or made-from-scratch buttermilk biscuits with real butter and jelly.

Of course, if you want something other than breakfast you have your options of chopped steak, grilled chicken, or even baked ham.

“This was one of the best tasting and best looking meal I have had in a long time!!!  I had steak, baked sweet potato, broccoli and baked apples.  The restaurant was clean, waitresses were all super sweet, fast service.  I will definitely be back!!” -Yelp review

Butterbees American Grille

390 N High St. | Mt. Orab | butterbeesgrill.com

With three different locations in Ohio, luckily Mt. Orab is one of them! A fun sports bar to enjoy food and drinks at while watching your favorite team.

Start off your meal with a delicious appetizer like their loaded cheese fries which are a bed of waffle fries topped with bacon, jalapenos, sliced green onions, and jack ‘n cheddar cheese all served with a side of Southwest Ranch for dipping. The picture on the website is mouthwatering.

Then choose for your main course options like salad, soup, sandwiches, burgers, and entrees. We took a closer look at their Santa Fe chicken entree, this is grilled chicken smothered with pepper jack cheese and homemade salsa, over a bed of rice. It is then topped with sour cream and crunchy tortilla strips.

If you are not full, then pick a dessert like a chocolate fudge cake, a warm fudge cake topped with vanilla ice cream and drizzled in chocolate sauce topped off with whipped cream. Does anything sound better than that combination?

“Butterbees was a very busy place that Saturday night and even being so busy our waitress Jess was very attentive to are needs and made several trip to our table to see if everything was OK or if we needed anything. The restaurant and restroom was very clean, the food came out to us very hot and tasted really good. We will be go back again.” -Google review.

Lake Manor Restaurant

13143 US-68 | Mt. Orab | lakemanorrestaurant.com

Family-based restaurants are some of the best in the business. The story behind this one in particular--a former server of Lake Manor, Julie Wiederhold eventually got her degree in management and with that, she started running the restaurant. She and her husband, Ray Evans got married and have co-owned the restaurant since 2001.

Observing their menu they have three main meals to choose from, seafood, sandwiches, and chicken.

The chicken sizzler option on the menu sounded very good which is a tender half-pound chicken breast freshly cubed and seasoned. It is then grilled and smothered with sauteed mushrooms and onions, topped with mozzarella cheese.

They also have sides like potatoes and vegetables.

“When I want to eat from a salad bar this is the place I go. The food on the menu is so so but the over all price for a dinner and salad bar is excellent. The salad bar is always fresh, has a huge variety and includes rolls, corn bread and soups. This place is truly a hidden gem. I will literally get a hankering for the pasta salad and corn bread from the bar and I live about 35 minutes away and will literally drive to get my fix. Highly recommend!” -Yelp review.
