Even if you aren’t looking to buy anything, stop in to see a gallery full of glass work from a number of artists!

4. Butler County Warbirds Museum

As a non-profit organization run entirely by volunteers, it’s kind of perfect that this museum operates out of Middletown. On top of the incredible display of old fighter planes, you can also take a brief plane ride up in one of their refurbished planes to see the city of Middletown below.

If you were wondering if Land of Illusion has anything else to offer, look no further. The Haunted Scream Park they put on in the time leading up to Halloween is a guest favorite. They recently added Zombie paintball to the agenda and also offer a tour through a haunted house.

7. Get Your Brew On

Alright, this one also isn’t technically in Middletown, but being just a quick 15 minute drive away certainly wouldn’t be out of your way to pick out pumpkins around Halloween. And the pumpkin patch is only the beginning. You can also find paintball, the Fall Festival, the Christmas Market, and a corn maze on Niederman Family Farm.

Just across the county line in Germantown, Ohio is Tom’s Maze and Pumpkin Farm. Just in case you couldn’t get enough of the corn maze and pumpkin farm we already mentioned, here’s another one for you. This one has a twist, though. It’s a puzzle. The maze operates sort of like an escape room. Solve the puzzles you find, and you’ll be able to escape the maze.

Bull’s Run Nature Sanctuary and Arboretum is a non-profit organization run entirely by volunteers. It is their mission to keep preserving the natural area remaining around Bull’s Run, as well as to provide education about the history and nature of that area. The sanctuary is a place for wild animals to roam as freely as they would like, and it also contains an arboretum at the very front of its entrance -- something that can only be achieved with a continuous 17-acre stretch of trees.

Located on Tytus and Verity Parkway, Smith Park is home to a wide variety of exciting middletown events. When Smith Park isn't hosting Middletown's Hot Air Balloon Festival or jaw-dropping annual Christmas lights display, you can find countless families enjoying Smith Park's soccer fields, skatepark, trails, and playgrounds. 20. Broad St. Bash

What's better on a summer night that food, friends, and fun? Nothing, and no one knows that better than Middletown. After the closing of the A&K steel mill in 2006, a team of Middletown locals got together to create a free live music event where people could hang out, have fun, and forget their troubles -- and the Broad St. Bash was born. Food and beer sales generated a rehab of the town. Middletown has kept the good times rolling for over a decade, continuing to host Broad St. Bashes every summer.
