Community Events
Heath is a very family friendly town. It is located in Licking County and encourages small town lovers to come enjoy what they have to offer. If you venture onto the official Heath website, there are countless community events being planned and sponsored. Community service is always appreciated in this town, and you can’t help but love that part of Heath’s personality. For example, there is a community Valentine’s Day dinner in the works, and it’s open to everyone! If you’re into the small town vibe, this is the place for you.
Great Circle Earthworks
Now for cool things to visit, this has to be on the top of the list. This particular piece of land has an ancient history...literally. The story is, this site was built by the Hopewell culture (100 B.C. - 500 A.D.). It was basically a giant wall, and it was sacred to the civilization that lived there. Now as of right now, it is a giant mound because time passes and things deteriorate. However, from an aerial view, it looks like a giant circle or some say it is an eagle. I’ll let you decide. There is also a museum at the park with Native American artifacts and nifty knowledge about the site’s origins. Better yet, this museum is free.
If you’re not a history buff, it’s okay! It is still a gorgeous park with beautiful walking trails to enjoy. According to TripAdvisor, this place is a must see if you’re visiting this town.
Pappy’s Grill
Pappy’s is the go-to bar in Heath and, if you’re not into drinking, they have an awesome food selection. It’s an all-American bar with some fun varieties. It is right on the highway as well, so don’t be afraid to stop in for a driving break. They have food specials every night. On Wednesdays, they have wings for 65 cents! Cheap wings and an Ohio State game make a fine combination if you ask me.
This place is known for their burgers and pizza. Their burgers are handmade and their pizza is top notch as well. Monday’s special is 5 dollar burgers, so if you’re going to enjoy one, Monday is the night to do it!
