Located just a short drive northwest of Columbus is picturesque Indian Lake.
This is where folks in Ohio go when they want a break from the hustle and bustle of the city. The pace is slower at the lake, and it offers a much needed change of pace. There are plenty of outdoor activities to experience as well-- boating, fishing, camping, and hiking-- all on the list of favorite things to do. Be sure to check out the beautiful trees at the large Indian Lake State Park as well, which offers campgrounds and provides pavilions for picnics.

Froggy’s

If you’re looking for one of the best places to hang out on the lake, then look no further than Froggy’s. This is the place to visit on the weekends, and the live music packs the locals and tourists in. A great place grab some food, it also features the very popular swim up bar-- now that’s a little something out of the ordinary!
Froggy’s also offers you a marina if you need to dock your boat as well. There are campgrounds on the site too-- as well as condos for rental-- just in case you’d like to stay close to the lake and all the action at Froggy’s.

During Ohio State Football season, this place gets packed, so if you’re at the lake in the fall, make sure to come early. Be sure to try some of Woody’s famous chicken-- as well as take part in the popular Bloody Mary bar on the weekends.

If you’re looking for a place to relax after a long day of hiking and boating on Indian Lake-- make sure to stop in at Indian Head Roadhouse. This restaurant has some great pub food and offers it all with some fantastic views of the lake.
In the warmer months, the outdoor deck is packed with people having a good time as the sun sets over the lake. It also offers boat docking service, so you can pull right up to the restaurant. Bloody Marys are the house specialty, so be sure and get adventurous and try some of the unique toppings they offer-- like shrimp, cucumbers, and papadillo peppers.

During the warmer months, Mimi’s offers live entertainment that fills up the outside deck and boat marina. If you’re looking for a place that goes at a slower, more relaxed pace-- make sure to stop by Mimi’s while you’re at Indian Lake.

Tilton Hilton

The Tilton Hilton is an Indian Lake staple and one that’s been around since 1977. They’ve been offering residents and tourists alike a friendly place to unwind after a long day of work-- or play-- at the lake. Everyone seems to feel at home here, and it’s a great place to visit after a day on the lake.
Dock your boat and head on up to the restaurant for some delicious pub food and a great selection of beers. The outdoor picnic tables are always packed on the weekends-- especially if there’s an Ohio State football game. They even offer karaoke on the weekends, so be sure and stop by for that-- it’s always a good time.

If you’re in the mood for something a little different, be sure to stop by El Azteca while you’re out at Indian Lake. This is one of the few Mexican restaurants in the area, and it is quite popular. With good food and friendly service, it’s easy to see why.
People keep coming back for the chips and salsa, chicken fajitas, and tortilla soup. Plus their margaritas are a favorite of both locals and visitors. They even offer them in pitchers so you can share with friends for an extra fun evening!

Cranberry Resort Waterfront Bar & Restaurant is another restaurant that is a staple of Indian Lake. It’s been around-- in one form or another-- since 1947 and its name has since become synonymous with Indian Lake. It’s a great place to visit if you’re passing through, but-- as the locals have always known-- it’s an even better place to visit often.
They have a huge deck that can hold up to 100 people in addition to their extensive indoor seating. Feel free to drive your boat right up to their docks-- then come on in for some good food and friendly service. They are well known for their specialty cocktail menu, so come prepared to try more than a few Island Cocktails, Rum Runners, and Mermaid Waters.
