Everyone likes to take a little time away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life-- and one of the most popular places to visit in Ohio to do that is Indian Lake and its surrounding communities. Lakeview is one such community, which boasts of many scenic views, trails for hiking and biking, and lots of opportunities to get out on the water and enjoy the lake.

Locals and tourists are drawn to the relaxed atmosphere and comfortable beaches of Lakeview, and year after year it’s a popular summer vacation spot. There are many choices in the area for dining, which is why we put together this list to offer you a sampling of where the locals like to hang out, and where you can get the best pizza, hamburgers, and cold drinks on Indian Lake. But don’t take our word for it, plan a trip to the lake and let us know what your favorites are!



1. Tilton Hilton

Tilton Hilton is one of the first places that locals tell tourists to try once they arrive in Lakeview. It’s just a great place, filled with friendly people, who also happen to make some amazing food. Don’t forget about the drinks too! They’re known all over the lake for their cocktails, but this place is cash only, so be sure to plan in advance. If you have a boat, not to worry, you can just drive right up and park at the pier.

There’s always something going on during the busy summer months, so make sure you stay up to date with their events calendar. After you try their burgers and their brews, save room for some of their ice cream, which is one of the best at Indian Lake!

2. Indian Head Roadhouse

This place is always packed during the summer season, and after one visit you’ll know why!

After a day outside on the lake, sometimes you just need to sit back and relax, and enjoy the view. The Indian Head Roadhouse has one of the best views of the lake, and their patio is almost always packed with customers during the busy summer months. Their beers on tap are always changing according to the season, so make sure to stop by often if you can.

If you’ve come up to the lake with your family, this is a great spot to bring the kids as well. There’s a full children’s menu, plus lots of cool items throughout the restaurant sure to keep their attention.

Cranberry Resort Waterfront Bar and Grille is one of the oldest restaurants in the Lakeview area-- it was built in 1947. It has since been remodeled, but it still seems to retain a nostalgic charm to it. Perhaps it’s the friendly atmosphere and great food that have kept people coming back here for decades.

It could also be the huge outdoor deck that faces the lake and offers some of the best views of Indian Lake sunsets. Whether you’re just visiting or you’re a regular at the Cranberry, it’s easy to see why this is one of the most popular places on the lake.

But it doesn’t end there. This place is known throughout Indian Lake for their delicious, and huge, hoagies. So make sure you give those a try as well while your out enjoying the lake.

Whether you’re an early riser-- or you prefer to sleep in a little on the weekends-- if you’re hungry for a home cooked breakfast, make sure to try out Jac n’ Do’s. Famous throughout the lake area for their pizzas, sandwiches, salads, and ice cream, they also rival some of the best breakfast spots a Indian Lake.

Stop in over the weekend for fresh off the griddle pancakes, or some sizzling eggs and bacon. Or if you prefer to mix the two, consider trying out their breakfast pizza, it’s a favorite of the locals!
