If you’re looking for a fun-filled day out of the house and away from the city, Kings Island is a great place to go to let out some stress and have some fun! Whether you’re a fan of roller coasters or you prefer to keep your feet firmly on the ground, there’s something for everyone to do here. You can choose to ride the biggest roller coaster you can find (and they have plenty) or you can choose to try your luck with one of the many games they have offered around the park to play!

Whether you’re an antique lover, collector, or you just find vintage signs cool, the American Sign Museum is a cool place to check out! Wanting to get a look at the history and evolution of signs, or just looking for your next, perfect Instagram background? The American Sign Museum can give you both. With large neon signs and a detailed history to go with each sign, the American Sign Museum is a cool place to check out to both see some cool signs and learn a little more about them.

The museum has signs dating from 1870 to 1970, and has signs for a variety of things and businesses. Their signs range from carved, wooden signs to neon signs with blinding colors and cool art. If you’re looking for a fun day out with the kids, the museum’s website has  downloadable scavenger hunt lists you can print and bring with you to have fun playing a game. The scavenger hunt themes include food themed signs, science signs, and they even have scavenger hunt lists for children of certain ages. Just a short drive from Dayton, OH, Ludlow Falls is a must see and is a hidden gem right in Ohio! These waterfalls are a great day adventure that you can take with friends or family if you’re feeling outdoorsy and want to explore what nature has to offer! If you’re not that into hiking, no worry. You don’t have to be a big hiker to find these falls as it’s an easy walk on the trail to the site where the waterfalls are. However, Ludlow Falls can’t be located on a map or by using GPS. If you’re looking to find these falls, the easiest way is to head to the Ludlow Falls fire department, and follow the trails that will lead you right to the falls. Check out these waterfalls both in the summer and the winter for very different, but equally as breathtaking, views.

Otherworld in Columbus, OH is an art experience like no other. With 32,000 square feet of immersive art to explore, you can easily spend the whole day here and never get bored. There are over 40 rooms at Otherworld for you to explore, and you’re encouraged by the staff to touch, play, and spend as long as you want within each room. Photos are encouraged, so be sure to snap your next perfect Instagram photo with your friends to remember your trip. Each room is meant to transport you to a fantasy world with LED light exhibits that are so cool and beautiful you won’t want to leave, and plenty of exhibits to explore. 

Some of the exhibits are small, and some are so large you’ll have to step back to get the full effect. If you’re planning a family day out, Otherworld is a great place for the kids to explore. They encourage you to interact with the art, so you won’t have to worry about stopping your kids from touching the art. In fact, you’re encouraged to join them! Whether you’re only here for a few hours or you stay the whole day, Otherworld is a must see for anyone whether you’re an art connoisseur or not!

The Cincinnati Contemporary Arts Center is an art museum with 6 floors for you to explore. The exhibits change frequently at the museum so there is always something new to see. The Contemporary Arts Center is a great place to have your next date night out or family day trip away! There are 5 floors of thought provoking art, with the 6th floor being the “Unmuseum” that features interactive and hands-on art and activities to explore and interact with. This part of the museum encourages you to interact with the art and let your inner child out. 

The Contemporary Arts Center offers free admission and is a fun place to visit for all ages! The Contemporary Arts Center also offers guided tours that you can take to learn more about the art you’re seeing. Or, you can just walk around at your own pace and explore all on your own! If you want to spend the whole day here and get hungry, Fausto is a restaurant that serves seasonal California inspired cuisine inside the Contemporary Art Center.

Legoland Discovery Center is a fun, family friendly experience in Columbus, OH. With a 4-D theater, two interactive rides, tours of the factory, and plenty of exhibits to explore, this is a great trip to take for a fun day away. While there, you can participate in workshops where you can get tips and tricks from Legoland’s master builders on how to create the perfect masterpiece, and there are plenty of areas to play with the different lego sets throughout the factory. Legoland Discovery Center is the perfect place to let your inner child out and just have some fun!

Legoland also offers adult nights throughout the year where you can come and experience Legoland at night.
