Oglebay resort is one of those cool places,and the fun is only a 15 minute drive from Bridgeport! The resort opened up around 100 years ago and now boasts 1,700 impressive acres of year-round fun.
Kids visiting Oglebay have the opportunity to enroll in a summer camp in addition to visiting the pool from 11am-7pm seven days a week during the summer. The pool features a climbing rock wall,inflatables, and more. 2. Wheeling Brewing Company

Another awesome spot that’s just a hop skip and a jump away from Bridgeport. Wheeling Brewing Company is the perfect place to grab some local beer near Bridgeport. Since it’s opening in 2014, Wheeling Brewing Company has been a fan favorite for history and flavors or microbrewing.
They offer six draft beers, in addition to some seasonal, local, and out-of-state brews. But this place certainly didn’t stop with beer. Their menu also offers some fabulous wines, ranging from the classic pours to some delicious local favorites. The wine specials do change on a weekly basis, so be sure to check in on this wine action when you visit!
This food menu is also to die for, with some amazing apps and sandwiches at lunch, and some delicious entrees at night(hello, seared salmon!).
In addition to their fabulous overall menu,Wheeling Brewing Company also offers some fun stuff you can partake in while enjoying your drinks and food. Previous events include Open Mic Night, Poses ‘nPints (yoga), and live music.

3. Children’s Museum of the Ohio Valley

At the museum, kids have the opportunity to engage in all kinds of play. For $5 admission, kids can climb on the rock wall,play house and dress up, and get creative with all of the art supplies a toddler could ever need. There’s also a sizeable Lego collection, train table,and plenty of books to peruse.
If for whatever reason your kid gets tired of all the other toys to play with in there, he or she can always turn to the museum cat for some snuggles and smiles.

If you’re in the mood for some amazing dessert near Bridgeport, Oliver’s is the perfect place. Be sure to order one of their tasty pies a day in advance (three in advance for Mini pies), unless you want to buy it by the slice.
Each pie is home made with the absolute freshest ingredients to make it taste just like something you’re mother would make for a holiday dinner. Located right on Market Street in Wheeling, Oliver’s offers all kinds of fruit pie, like apple, cherry, blackberry, and peach; and cream pies,such as butterscotch, peanut butter, lemon, and coconut cream pie.Both the Fresh Apple and Chocolate Cream pie can be made sugar-free upon request.
